چکیده

We examine the bremsstrahlung photons emitted in the central collisions of two gold nuclei at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. While the measurements of the final hadrons can reveal only the amount of stopping, they tell us very little about the space-time evolution of the bulk matter in the collisions. By using two extreme collision scenarios, we argue that the low and medium energy bremsstrahlung photons can, not only reveal the amount of stopping, but also the finer details of the space-time evolution of the charges.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

N ov 2 00 0 Bremsstrahlung from a Microscopic Model of Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

We compute bremsstrahlung arising from the acceleration of individual charged baryons and mesons during the time evolution of high-energy Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider using a microscopic transport model. We elucidate the connection between bremsstrahlung and charge stopping by colliding artificial pure proton on pure neutron nuclei. From the intensity of low energy br...

Probing the spacetime evolution of heavy ion collisions with photons and dileptons

Photons and dileptons are emitted throughout the evolution of the deconfined nuclear medium produced in heavy ion collisions. As such they can provide valuable information about the different phases of the medium, and complement hadronic measurements and other observables. In this work, recent developments related to electromagnetic emissions at early time, in the cross-over region, and at late...

High Density Qcd and Entropy Production at Heavy Ion Colliders

The role of entropy production in the context of probing QCD properties at high densities and finite temperatures in ultra-relativistic collisions of heavy nuclei is inspected. It is argued that the entropy generated in these reactions provides a powerful tool to investigate the space-time evolution and the question whether and how a deconfined plasma of quarks and gluons is formed. I will addr...
